Denise Peach (Chair)

Denise runs a very successful Training Organisation which delivers government funded programmes and commercial training . Denise is a committed, dynamic and focused professional with a demonstrable track record of achievement in ensuring the quality service is provided to all. Key areas of expertise include I.A.G, Business Administration, Cleaning and Support Services, Customer Service, Contact Centre, Health & Safety, IT, Learning and Development incl. A1/V1 and Management. Denise is also experienced in the design and delivery of training programmes for both the public and private sector

Cllr Des Hughes (Vice Chair)

Des was first elected as Councillor in Kingstanding in 2010. For nearly ten years before that he worked for the MP for Erdington which covers the Kingstanding area. He has served on a variety of Overview and Scrutiny Committees within the Council and currently serves on the Housing & Homes Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

He has lived nearly all his life within a stone’s throw of Kingstanding Circle, so he is well acquainted with the area and the people who live there and is determined to help Kingstanding get its fair share of opportunity and investment in its people and neighbourhoods.

Peter Kane (Director)

Peter arrived in Birmingham in 1959 and through a succession of jobs in the building industry engineering and brewing, he was actively involved in promoting the trade union movement. At Ansell’s Brewery he became a senior convener for the white-collar section and was responsible for a vast improvement in workers terms and conditions of employment.  In 1979 he became a regional industrial officer for the TGWU a position he held for 22 years. In 2001-2013 he became labour councillor and held many senior cabinet positions at Birmingham City Council. In 2007 Peter was instrumental in setting up KRT and was chair for three years.

Anita Ward (Director)

Anita was Lord Mayor of Birmingham in 2012 and a former chief whip of the Birmingham Labour Group More recently she has chaired Birmingham Council’s Children’s Services Scrutiny Committee, leading an influential inquiry into child sexual exploitation in the city.

She has a keen interest in the armed forces and is she is the council’s official Veterans Champion and President of the British Legion in the city. She was born and bred in Erdington and as a trustee she has led on developing our safeguarding policies and procedures.

Cllr Gary Sambrook (Director)

Gary is one of three City Councillors who represent the Kingstanding ward and was elected in 2014. He currently holds the role of Shadow Cabinet Member for Housing & Homes, and previously been lead opposition member on the Human Resources Scrutiny Committee. Away from the City Council, Gary studied Public Relations and Human Resource Management, receiving a BA (Hons) in 2011, and subsequently gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in International Human Resource Management. Following a brief period working in Human Resources for a SME, Gary took up a Campaign Manager role for a major political party and is currently a Senior Parliamentary Assistant to a Member of Parliament.

Susan Byrne (Director)

Susan has lived in Kingstanding almost all her life and has worked in the fields of Banking, finance, debt recovery and financial distress. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) and an Associate Member of the Associated of Business Recovery Professionals (R3).

She joined the CICM in 1993, became Chair in 2000 and was awarded the Meritorious Service award last year. She became involved with KRT through another charity and local involvement with the community and a desire to help local people empower themselves to have a better life.  As a trustee she has been involved in overseeing the organisations financial processes and assisting the board on assessing projects to support financially.
